"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6ELEMENTARYOur elementary curriculum is Christian-based with Bible taught at the beginning of each day. Special emphasis is placed on reading and math with the A-Beka Reading Program and Saxon Math Programs used throughout the elementary school. Grades 1-6 participate in the Accelerated Reader Program and have internet accessible computers in each classroom, as well as in the A. R. Smithers Library. Our Stanford Achievement Test Scores reflect that the average elementary student scores between 1.5 and 2.5 grade levels above the national average. Elementary students participate in physical education, library, computer, group music, chapel, and show choirs. Ninety-five percent of our fifth and sixth graders participate in at least one extra-curricular activity. Educational field trips are scheduled regularly as a part of the total learning process. Our fifth graders look forward to an overnight trip to the United States Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama each fall, while our sixth graders anxiously await their trip to St. Louis, MO this spring.
